Plan for A Time and a Place: Ruthie Ford
Tuesday 7th
· Prepare knitting table/ area
· Prepare knitting and crochet that people can pick up and contribute to
· Work with Adam to learn how to use sound recording device
· During opening: sit and knit and talk to people about what I am up to and lead conversation around memories/ experiences of craft/ making
Wednesday 8th
· Day in the gallery
· Work with Adam to record the sound of knitting needles to be used in Steve’s meditation (?)
· Process any memories collected on Tuesday evening (chalkboard/ display)
· 2-4 Knitting workshop, all welcome
· Evening visit to library with Abi and Sarah(?). Knit and invite people to join in and share memories.
Thursday 9th
· Day will include two visits with Abi and Sarah(?): Fusion Cafe and Castle Market Cafe. Activity as above. 10-11ish and then 2-3ish?
· 12-2 Knitting workshop in the gallery, all welcome
Friday 10th
· Day in the gallery
· Knitting meditation with Steve? (At 10 past 10? On the 10th??)
· Creating display for memories to be stored in and to continue a presence after I leave on Saturday. Include sound bites? Include knitting to contribute to? Include opportunity to leave memories?
· Visit to student union with Abi and Sarah (?): activity as above
Saturday 11th
· Arrive 1.30
· Creating a new knitting chant with Lyn based on her observations of craft memory conversations
· Performance/ recording of chant? 4-5ish?
· Leave a display to represent my presence
